New Reunion Options

I have made the decision to open the reunion at 9:30pm for the party. You can pay at the door or pre-pay via PayPal. If you choose to pay at the door it will be
$30/person. Otherwise mail me a check or click on the little PayPal link on the right and pay $25/person.

I really want all to come and enjoy the night with or with out the dinner. Ciao!

I have had an outstanding response to the reunion mailer, however, have had very few pay. Therefore, I am extending the RSVP deadline to October 10th.

Reunion Venue

After weeks of research, number crunching, and planning I have selected a venue for the reunion.

It will still be on 10.24.09, at 'Elements' at the Ice House in Bakersfield.

Reunion Planning Meeting

The next reunion planning meeting is going to be on Sunday, July 19th at 7pm. Let's meet at Senor Pepe's (the reunion location) for drinks and planning. This way, if you're interested, you can get a better idea of the location and all it entails. Hope to see you there!

Latest Update

Some things have changed after the meeting last night.
In attendance were myself, Amanda Tumblin, Julie (Fregeau) Fieldgrove, and Summer LaBrecque.
We decided on a location - Senor Pepe's Mexican Restaurant (formerly Red Pepper) in Rosedale. They have a gorgeous patio that seats 120, and they are giving us a discount because I have known the owners for 15 years.
Because of this, we feel comfortable lowering the ticket price from $50 per person, to $30 per person.
In the beginning, those in attendance at the first meeting may recall, we had ideas of renting a hotel banquet room or a local museum, having a DJ, dancing, etc. With the slow flow of interest, and commitment, along with the current state of our economy (which effects us all in one way or another) we felt that this option is much more realistic for our class at this time.
Senor Pepe's has MUCH to offer us at a great price. We will have a buffet of 2 items from the menu, rice & beans, salad, and soft drinks. There is an outside bar in the patio area as well. It will be a no host bar. There are heaters, and the patio is completely covered. They also have a projector and screen (for slideshow) and sound system available to us. Also, for those interested in dancing and a DJ, at 10pm they have a club party.
Lots more information to come in the near future as more details come together. We do need a few things from all of you now though:
1. Please, please, tell your friends to send in their information or you send it in for them. We are still missing around 200 classmates! I will be posting a blog soon with names. We plan to mail out an official invitation as well as other information in the beginning of July.
2. We need to start collecting photos for the slideshow. If you have any that you'd like to share, you can either email them to me here or upload them to our photobucket site.User name - drillers1999 password reunion
3. Buy your tickets! Even though we've found a great location at a great rate we still need cash flow to make this reunion fabulous! The PayPal button on our reunion blog is adjusted accordingly. If you are uncomfortable paying online then please let me know and I will give you an address where you can mail a check or money order.

Hello Drillers! It's time to kick it into high gear! We need to secure a location and for that we need $$. On the side bar over there ---> you will now see a Paypal button. There are four different purchase options:
Single Deposit - $25
Single Ticket - $50
Couple Deposit - $50
Couple Ticket - $100

Choose the best option for you at this time but keep in mind there will be payment cut offs in the near future.

The Date Has Been Set!!!

We had our first reunion planning meeting last night and with 7 ladies in attendance we set a date!!!

We chose Saturday, October 24 because it is the day after BHS' homecoming game. We've arranged with the school to have a section of seats roped off for our class and our admission will only be $2 each. This will be a fun, family friendly, addition to our reunion weekend.

The location and time of the reunion have still NOT been determined. If you have an suggestions or opinions please share them, either via email or in the comments section on this blog.

We set the cost at $50 per person. This will go to cover all mailings, dinner, music, and other fun things that we will have planned. In a week or two we will have a link on this blog to a Paypal account. You will also have the option of mailing a check, just send an email for the address. There is not one set right now but there will be a deadline in place when the cost per person will go up. We need to have money coming in well before the reunion so that we can secure our location and other rentals.

Also at the meeting we split up the class list. Out of 274 names listed in our senior yearbook, we have only heard from about 60. Send in your info! Send in your friend's info! We need phone #s, mailing address, AND email addresses.

Today we sent out an evite (that link will take you to it). If you didn't get one it is because your email address is not on our list! We are using this evite as an informal head count of people that may or may not be interested in attending the reunion.

Hello fellow alumni! We will be using this blog to update you on all things regarding our reunion!
We are in the very early planning stages at the moment.
We are gathering alumni contact information so please send yours in to drillers1999@hotmail.com and tell your friends too! We need addresses and phone numbers.
In time we will be asking everyone for a brief summary of what they have been up to for the past 10 years as well as pictures from our high school days and those that are more current.
We will also be sending out a small survey to get a better idea of possible attendance and opinions on just how this reunion should go down.

By some standards we are getting a late start on this so let's get the ball rolling! The sooner we can get the information out the sooner we can really start making concrete plans.
